Ben Kennedy was born at the age of 0 in Baltimore, Maryland. After surviving 30 years there, he now makes his home in Charleston, South Carolina. He is a father, a husband, a comedian, an actor, and a natural storyteller. It was that love of storytelling that brought him to the stand-up comedy stage, which has been his second home for the past 9 years. However, telling only funny stories left Ben feeling a bit incomplete. He knew that it was possible to reach people on so many other levels. He still wanted to make them laugh, but he also wanted to move them, touch their hearts, make them think, and help them to take a new look at the world around them. It was that desire that led to his pursuit as a writer, and his ever-growing collection of short stories and essays are easily accomplishing all that he has set out to do.

In addition to being published in "Chicken Soup for the Soul: All in the Family" in October 2009, Ben Kennedy looks to release a collection of humorous essays and short stories in the coming year.
